The Alchemy Nix Alba is a relatively low wind P90, wound using 43AWG wire. An AIII/AIV blend bridge gives a transparent, woody tone, with a little peak in the midrange to keep the sound driving enough to handle distortion, but sound natural played clean. The AIII/AII blend in the neck emphasises the natural warmth of the position, balances well with the bridge, and provides a sweet, warm clean sound, with a wide frequency response, and tons of mid-range character. A lovely AIII woodiness permeates the sound, with a little added attitude, and the open harmonics of the single P90 coil, all contributing to a classic yet unique sounding pickup set.
